Important to Know

Peace of mind results cannot be used in court.

This is the single most important thing to understand before scheduling your appointment. Peace-of-mind DNA testing does not meet the requirements of a legal DNA test:

  • No photo ID verification
  • No photos taken of participants
  • No chain-of-custody documentation
  • No notarized result

If you're trying to resolve a custody case, child support matter, birth certificate amendment, social security claim, inheritance issue, or any other legal situation, a judge or court will not accept peace-of-mind results. You would need to start over with a Legal DNA Test.

Not sure which test is right for you? Call (951) 290-7500 and we'll walk you through it before you schedule your appointment.

Common Questions

Peace-of-mind testing, answered.

No. Peace-of-mind results cannot be used in court or for any legal purpose, even after the fact. The test doesn't include the photo ID verification, photos of participants, chain-of-custody documentation, or notarized result that legal proceedings require. If you later need a result for court, you would need to start over with a Legal DNA Test.
Yes. The lab work and accuracy are identical. Both tests are processed by an AABB-accredited laboratory using the same STR analysis. The result is just as scientifically reliable; what changes is the legal framework around how the sample was collected and documented.
Only the people you choose to tell. We come to a location of your choosing, all communication is private, and your results are shared with no one outside the authorized contacts you specify when you schedule your appointment.
About 15 minutes total. The cheek swab itself takes roughly 30 seconds per person. The rest is intro, paperwork, and any questions you have.
Most peace-of-mind results are available within 3–5 business days after the sample reaches the laboratory. Delivered securely via email.
No. Peace-of-mind testing doesn't require photo ID verification. Just so you know, that's also one of the reasons it can't be used in court. If ID verification is something you'd need for your situation, you'd want a Legal DNA Test instead.
For any matter where a judge, attorney, government agency, or vital records office will see the result, you need a Legal DNA Test, not peace of mind. The cost difference is $100 but the documentation difference is everything. Call us if you're not sure which one applies to your situation.
A peace-of-mind DNA paternity test starts at $299. This includes mobile collection within 30 miles of 92585, two participants, the mother free of charge if included, and AABB-accredited laboratory processing. See full pricing →
